What is the difference between refacing and painting?

Refacing retains suitable cabinet boxes while replacing doors and drawer fronts and coordinating visible exterior surfaces. Painting changes the finish on suitable existing cabinetry and can retain the current door style. The proposed work depends on your cabinets and goals.

Should I reface or replace my cabinets?

Refacing may suit cabinets with sound boxes and a layout you want to keep. Materials, coatings and damage affect suitability. Replacement may make more sense when boxes are damaged or you want a different layout. Compare new cabinet options.

How much does cabinet refacing or painting cost?
